On September 2nd this year, "Rush", the long awaited Formula 1 biopic of the rivalry between James Hunt (played by Chris Hemsworth) and his Austrian friend, Niki Lauda (played by Daniel Brühl), premiered in Leicester Square, London. In his latest film, Academy Award winner Ron Howard depicts the story of how James and Niki’s friendship and rivalry grew from the days of competing as young men in Formula 3 to that famous day in 1976 when James clinched the World Championship from Niki by a single point in Japan, after one of the most exciting and dramatic seasons in Formula 1 history.
Having seen the film already (and without giving too much away) we’re confident you’ll find it a real treat, as are the few F1 insiders and journalists who’ve been privileged with a private viewing! The cinematography throughout is second to none, with some compelling race scenes that make you feel like you’re sitting in the car with each of them. This combined with a wonderful score written by Hans Zimmer leads to numerous memorable scenes. If you want to experience the full effect of the film we highly recommend you watch it in a cinema with the biggest screen you can find!
